Interview Nightmares

June 25th, 2010

You think your last interview was a nightmare?

A friend sent me a link to this video.  Now, before you blame me for just regurgitating the latest viral You Tube video, I want to blame someone else explain why I’ve chosen to share.

Today, while attending the NC Tech 4 Good conference at UNC, I was reminded that it is beneficial to have some light content to help connect with folks when using social media – facebook, twitter, bloggging and the like. And of late, I have found myself in discussions with folks about the pitfalls of interviewing — the importance of the manner by which you should treat everyone from the receptionist to the interviewer with care and politeness, the odd sorts of questions that have been asked, the need to thoroughly research a company and position before going to the interview.

When this was forwarded to me, I knew that it highlighted the importance of all these things — and just how not to do things or hope you don’t encounter such on your next interview.

Hopefully, you will get a chuckle out of this, as I did. Remember, next time you have an interview that goes awry, it could be worse.
